Donovan F Blackwood

Donovan Blackwood is an award winning actor and vocalist. As an actor for his role as The Chief in Top Coppers he won Best Comedy Performance at the MVSA - Movie Video & Screen Awards and  as a vocalist Best Male Artist at The Bright Star Awards.

He is former lead vocalist for the band Heatwave where Keith Wilder was so impressed that he regularly referred to him as ‘my shadow’. As a solo artist he has made a guest appearance on The British Collective’s album, The Renaissance Begins, on the track Won’t You Come Over which also features Junior Giscombe, Roachford, Lee John, Omar, Don E & Noel McKoy. His solo material includes the album This Time and the EP Break My Back which featured remastered versions of Never Gonna Let You Go and All My Life which achieved UK Soul Number One and UK Soul Chart Number 3 respectively.

The series Top Coppers first aired on BBC3 then transferred to BBC2.

He also featured as Drill Sergeant Baxter in The Windsors, as well as an appearances in Miss You Already and Ready Player One.

His voiceover work includes both Sony & Rubicon
